Felipe Gallegos-Carlos (singer/tenor)

Tenor Felipe Gallegos-Carlos will perform at the special opera concert this afternoon, with the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) and soprano Jannelieke Schmidt. Felipe Gallegos was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He has developed as a classical tenor in oratorio, concert music and opera. Felipe studied at the University of Guadalalara and won several scholarships from the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico; thereby enabling him to continue his studies abroad. He studied under Carlos Aransay, Katherine Cieszinsky, Corradina Caporello, Claude Corbeil and Joan Dornemann. And Felipe is still studying – currently at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Catrin Wyn-Davies and Rita Dams.

Your most beautiful concert?

“In my memory there are many concerts which have been beautiful and worth remembering (also as not that good experiences). If I should only mention one of them I would say that it was the concert with my KonCon colleagues singing “Hail bright Cecilia” by Purcell at De Luthersekerk in The Hague in December 2019, before the pandemic started.”

After CityProms

“After CityProms festiva I will participate in a tour with De Nederlandse Bachvereninging, (rehearsals from October 2021 to January 2022, Tour in January and February 2022). Also some concerts singing the Johannes and Matthew Passion by J.S.Bach, and recitals singing Mexican modern music accompanied by the piano.”
