Together with vocalist Humphrey Campbell, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw pays Ode to Stevie Wonder. You don’t want to miss this. The seventeen-piece Concertgebouw Jazz Orchestra is an absolute world-class big band. With a rock-solid rhythm section and wind players, the orchestra tours all over the world with many great international soloists. Every year the Jazz Orchestra surprises with a December tour, inviting artists such as José James, Madeleine Peyroux, Kurt Elling and Oleta Adams. Chief conductor Dennis Mackrel has been with the orchestra since 2016. He became the youngest drummer ever in the Count Basie band at the age of 20. He subsequently played in The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Carla Bley Very Large Band, the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, the WDR Big Band and The Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band, among others.
