PA’dam interprets Mozart’s Requiem
PA’dam lets you experience Mozart’s most beloved piece as an icon of choral literature even without an orchestra. The choir will perform its Requiem under the direction of Maria van Nieukerken with the intimate setting of twelve singers and pianist Mirsa Adami. PA’dam challenged composer Gustavo Trujillo to create a new autonomous authentic piano version, focusing on Mozart’s original score. But also with Mozart’s imaginative way of thinking and all the possibilities that the piano offers. The PA’dam singers also perform the solo passages. All known vocal lines remain unchanged, but the context is about to undergo an exciting change…
PA’dam is a contemporary vocal ensemble, consisting of ambitious and versatile professionals. The choir is under the energetic leadership of conductor Maria van Nieukerken. PA’dam distinguishes itself through its enterprising outlook, versatile programming and originality of approach. PA’dam’s activities are characterised by their great diversity: music by old masters, world premieres, monumental choral works, swinging Christmas programmes and rock music. PA’dam wants as many people as possible to experience the power and splendour of vocal music in all conceivable musical styles. With this, PA’dam wants to inspire and surprise its audience. PA’dam is always looking for ways to connect and challenge both the audience and the singers. Also here!
